The Banking & Finance Law Review has announced three exciting opportunities for scholars and law students interested in the intersection of financial law and technology:
- Call for Papers for the 7th Annual FinTech Issue (Manuscripts reviewed on a rolling basis with final submissions due by May 1, 2025). The BFLR invites articles, recent development articles, case notes and comments, and book reviews centered around the regulation and impact of FinTech on the financial industry. The issue will feature a leading article authored by Professor Ruth Plato-Shinar of Netanya Academic College School of Law. - BFLR FinTech Fellowship (Submissions due by May 1, 2025). The Fellowship is open to candidates for a doctoral degree in law (PhD, SJD, JSD or equivalent) from any jurisdiction whose thesis research is focused on law and FinTech. The FinTech Fellow will sit as part of the Editorial Team for the BFLR’s Annual FinTech issue alongside the Editor-in-Chief and Guest Co-Editor of the Special Issue, and will have the opportunity to publish a short article (8,000-9,000 words) linked to their doctoral research in the Annual FinTech issue as the Fintech Fellow Paper. - Call for Papers for the BFLR Law Student FinTech Writing Program (Submissions due by June 16, 2025). Students enrolled in full-time LLB or JD programs in any jurisdiction are invited to submit a paper of up to 3,000 words (including footnotes) on any aspect of law and FinTech. The top submission, as determined by a panel of experts in FinTech law, will be published in the BFLR’s Annual FinTech Issue as the BFLR Law Student FinTech Paper. Submissions must have the endorsement of a law faculty member.
