Matthias Petel, Assistant Editor, is an SJD Candidate at Harvard Law School. His main interest lies in exploring the emerging legal architecture of green capitalism, understood as a new regime of accumulation. His research centers on the intricate negotiations aimed at reshaping the global financial landscape, a response to the interrelated predicaments posed by debt and climate crises predominantly experienced by countries in the Global South. Before commencing his studies at Harvard Law School, Matthias was involved in human rights and climate change litigation endeavors in Belgium. Maintaining his keen interest, he is also studying the burgeoning phenomenon of the global judicialization of climate struggles.
